Meet Our Leaders:
Jim Shaw: Chairman, Co-Founder
Jim, a former Air Force pilot and Hurricane Hunter, has over 50 years of experience in business development: launching companies, developing business sales strategies, motivating personnel, and developing the necessary business financial plans to allow success. Jim's experience in business development enabling a vision for the enterprise to understand and meet their goals is his strong suite.
After the Air Force, Jim was recruited by IBM, five years later he became a founder of Memorex Computing. Jim then started the tax-exempt Municipal Leasing Corporation, providing tax-exempt financing. Then Jim founded Shaw Warehousing, built several industrial parks, and the largest passenger sailing ship in the United States: "Clipper City". He purchased and re-founded the ATO Fraternity House at the University of Maryland and served as the founding president of the university's alumni association. Jim has provided career counseling to many people and authored "Success in Action".
Stephen Volandt: President, Co-Founder, and Managing Partner
Steve is a former US Marine Corps reserve logistics officer, and has worked in numerous corporate, governmental, and national security roles involving technology and operations project portfolios as large as $1B+. He volunteers as Vice Chair, FBI-InfraGard National Disaster Resilience Council. He is a proven leader, entrepreneur and problem solver who delivers client and C-Suite priorities via the portfolio of policy, process, end-users, customers, contracting, continuous improvement, underlying technology, data, infrastructure, finance, and supply chains. He has translated this experience into a passion for facilitating the design, funding, and creation of efficient teams and resilient facilities and communities.
